It has one of my favorite actors Freddie Highmore, the villain is played by David Bowie and his assistant is played by Jason Bateman, the heroine that accompanies Freddie Highmore’s character is played by Madonna, and other big names like Robert De Niro and Mia Farrow. Arthur is a spirited ten-year old whose parents are away looking for work, whose eccentric grandfather has been missing for several years, and who lives with his grandmother in a country house that, in two days, will be repossessed, torn down, and turned into a block of flats unless Arthurs.
If you’re interested in Epic check out Arthur and the Invisibles (but not the 2&3 one, I found the change up in voice actors to change the dynamic of the film). Arthur the Invisibles 2 & 3 espouse positive messages about our connectedness with nature, down to the smallest insects, and about the importance of keeping your word. I find it so hard to believe that these actors were in a vocal booth and not physically acting out every moment of the film to be captured for the animators, that’s how well they captured the actors. Cast Freddie Highmore, Mia Farrow, Selena Gomez, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Doug Rand, Jimmy Fallon, Snoop Dogg, Will i Am, Fergie. They all do the bow with different characteristics giving a more realistic feeling to their animation.
#ARTHUR AND THE INVISIBLES CAST MOVIE#
In the credits of the first movie they have the cast come out as the animated Minimoys and do a final bow and it feels like it’s each actor taking a bow, not an animated character. I enjoyed the transition from real life to animated in Arthur in the Invisibles and the animation is perfect and so lifelike. It even has a similar casting of famous actors, comedians and the musical artists.
Different story lines but same basic premise, child gets transformed into a mini person that has been a legend in their family and then have to save the forest/house/land/etc. The movie Epic is just a rip off of Arthur and the Invisibles from 2006.
